Hello, everyone!
My name is Steve Ricketts. Former Director of Operations for CBCS Pressing and more recently Director of Manga for Beckett Grading Services. Many of you already know me, and thousands of you have trusted me with your books over the years, and I'm excited to finally make this official!
I am ready to publicly offer my pressing services through Ricketts Manga & Comic Pressing.
I've spent 20+ years working with paper, through printing, pressing, and conservation and have personally pressed more than 150,000 comics and manga.
One thing I think makes my approach a little different is my experience on both sides of the grading process. After years of professionally grading manga, comic books, & magazines, I know what graders are looking for, which defects can affect a grade, and which ones can be safely improved through cleaning and pressing. My goal isn't simply to make a book look better, it's to help your book reach its full grading potential!
Over the years, I've had the privilege of pressing many of the biggest manga grails that went on to receive some of the highest grades on census. Zasshis include the 9.4 copies of the 1st One Piece and Dragon Ball and the 9.6 1st Yu-Gi-Oh. Tankobon include 9.8 copies of the first issues of One Piece, Naruto, Berserk, and Yu-Gi-Oh!
I'm incredibly proud to have been trusted with books of this caliber, but I bring that same level of care to every book that I receive.
